Heinrich Boll Foundation Sponsorships

Heinrich Böll Foundation: The Heinrich Boll Foundation is a federally organised, independently operating foundation.
It sees its main tasks in political education, in promoting democratic decision-making, in commitment to social issues and in international understanding.
The foundation attaches great importance to giving full sponsorship to foreign students.
Besides the formal requirements, the foundation particularly wants applicants to correspond to the principles of the foundation and to be willing to assume political and social responsibility.
The foundation arranges work placements on request.
Scholarship holders also have the right to participate in the foundation boards and are thus expected to submit regular intermediate reports during the sponsorship period.
The study scholarships are open students of all disciplines.

Number of Scholarships: 80 - 100
Duration: Two to three years

Scholarship Value:
Supporting programme, regional fora, material sponsorship (full sponsorship), co-operation with departments of the Heinrich Boll Foundation, arrangement of work placements, encounters with green politics, scholarship holders participate in the foundation’s boards, in the selection committees and in the scholarship holders’ council.
Application Deadlines:

Application deadline for short applications: 1st March / 1st September.

Application deadline for an extensive application: 1st May / 1st November.

Notification of granted scholarships: July / January or February.

Sponsorship expected to begin: 1st October / 1st April.
